Hi, I’m Dawn.

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. I’m Dawn (she/her), a somatic psychotherapist who believes we each deserve space to connect with our inner wisdom and practice being more fully ourselves.

I specialize in working with individuals ages 20+ who are navigating anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, trauma recovery, depression, and chronic pain. Maybe you're seeking relief from overwhelming emotions and sensations, or perhaps you feel numb and disconnected from yourself. Maybe you find yourself moving through the world braced for danger, or caught in cycles of worry or self-doubt. Perhaps you've noticed your life becoming smaller as fear, uncertainty, self-criticism, and emotional or physical pain shape the choices you make.

Whether you want to feel more present and connected, more open to new experiences, or kinder to yourself, therapy with me offers an opportunity to slow down, listen inwardly, and explore the beliefs, emotions, experiences, and other factors that may be contributing to your distress. While I don't have all the answers, I will sit in the questions with you as we find our way together. I approach my work with compassion, curiosity, and a deep belief in your capacity to move toward a life that feels aligned with who you are and what matters most to you.

I received my MAEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University and spent 12 years in corporate and consulting settings before becoming a therapist. I am immensely grateful and humbled to support my clients as they (re)connect with a greater sense of authenticity and freedom in their lives.

When not in session, I enjoy hiking, skiing, exploring shapes on my yoga mat, playing with watercolors, tending plants, and spending time with family and community.

Dawn Angus, LMCHA, Seattle, Bellevue, WA Therapist Headshot

My Approach

My approach centers authentic relationship and client empowerment. I will invite you to contribute your curiosity and understanding of yourself, as well as define the north star of our journey together. I offer my presence and experience, drawing from modalities grounded in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, mindfulness, and somatics to support mind-body, whole-person learning. We will work together to understand and co-create what healing looks like for you.

My practice is grounded in trauma-sensitive and feminist therapy frameworks where we center relationship, honor the pace of your nervous system, and acknowledge the impact of systemic factors such as oppression and marginalization on well-being.

Therapeutic Modalities

I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities depending on your needs, interests, and goals. I primarily work from psychodynamic, somatic, and mindfulness-based approaches. Additionally, I draw on:
